Yvonne just had time to sit down and really go through the ‘new style’ website. Great front page and love the pics. You know just how to reach Special Parents. We need information just like ‘it says on the tin’ to borrow a catch phrase. I would urge everyone to read what you have to give but more importantly perhaps share with family members and those who find it difficult to know how to help us. Thank you to a very Special Lady.

Hi Grainne, it’s lovely of you to look through the website and leave such positive and helpful feedback. I really trust your judgement, so your comments mean the world to me. I’m trying to build up these pages to be a comprehensive disability resource for parents and professionals, and from what you’re saying, the foundations might be already in place. Thank you x

Hi yvonne, I hope you are well? My name is Heather Jarvis and I am a learning disability liaison nurse for Newcastle upon Tyne hospitals. I had the pleasure of hearing you speak at a recent conference In Newcastle which only echoed what I hear almost daily from other parents of children with learning disability.
My collegue and I are hoping to raise awareness of our liaison service within children’s services in Newcastle hospitals during learning disability awareness week in June. We were wondering/hoping you would allow us to use/share your inspirational utube videos of your speech in our training/ awareness sessions? We feel it would be a powerful tool to help staff understand what is like to be a parent to a child with learning disability!
We would really apprieciate your thoughts.

    Kind regards
    Heather

Happened to see a link to you on a single parents fb page ( those with children with special needs etc), I have a 29 yr old son who has CP and LD and other stuff too. What you said on your ‘reporter ‘ item rang so true with me. A small group of us mums meet up most Fridays here in Taunton for coffee. We call it “cheaper than therapy!” We all have adult sons/ daughters with significant LD and other stuff. Your work looks amazing!!

Hi Brenda, thank you for getting in touch, and for your interest in buying a copy of The Special Parent’s Handbook. I believe it is available in the US on Kindle, but if you would like to buy a physical copy, you can buy it directly from me on Paypal, and I’ll sign it too if you would like me to. I will email you with further details. Once again, many thanks, and best wishes, Yvonne
