David Littleford – 5th April 1938 – 16th March 2021

Amy Woodhouse, David’s daughter, has written these beautiful words about her Dad, and why she and her family have very kindly asked friends and family for donations to the SEND VCB Project in his memory. Heartfelt thanks to David’s wife, Heather, and their children, Ben, Amy and Sarah.
David Littleford

Dad was the most incredible man.  He lived for his family and was always so very proud of us all . Dad would do anything for us; but not just for us. Dad was always there for everyone -family, friends, colleagues, neighbours-  he would unquestioningly do anything for anyone.

As well as a family man, dad was an English teacher who taught in several secondary schools before retirement. When he passed away, we were contacted by his ex-pupils and what really shone through from all of them was how dad had given them the confidence to believe in themselves when so many teachers had given up on them. Dad never gave up on anyone , he always believed in the best in people .

David’s Grandson, Tom

My son Tom who is 12, is on the autistic spectrum and also has Tourette’s syndrome and severe mental health issues. We sought help from Yvonne a few years ago for Tom and my dad witnessed first-hand the lifechanging role her advice played in all of our lives.  My dad was always Tom’s biggest advocate – and Tom adored him. He was always there to listen, encourage and support Tom , and us – when some judged us as a family dad always fought our corner.

When dad passed away, we were very proud to be able to give donations from his friends, pupils and family in his memory to  Yvonne Newbold  to help her continue her incredible work. Dad would be so honoured to support Yvonne and other families finding themselves in similar situations as us.
